We will be fabricating bezel settings in 22k gold and silver focusing on geometric shapes, unique cuts, and rough surfaces. Learn how to add a small amount of gold to give you that expensive look without breaking the bank. We will learn effective tricks to tube setting diamonds and sapphires so we can solder those into hard to reach places with the stones already set. Multiple ways to put settings together in a strategic way to compliment your design and functionality to make setting your stones easier in the end.
Supply and tool list will be supplied.

BIO:
Finding the beauty in gemstones lured me into gold smithing. The natural surfaces and crystal structures fascinate me and the never ending rainbow of colors keeps me inspired. Using these characteristics along with unique faceting and cuts gives my work a modern feel with throw back designs to the Art Deco period, but keeping a whimsical nature. Fabricating the settings for each gemstone in gold and silver gives me a sense of connection to the natural elements of my work. They take on their own life as I arrange the designs and find ways to group them into pieces using a variation of color combinations to dazzle the eye and speak to the soul. Sometimes it is the similarities of shapes that seem to work well together or it could be a total contrast of shining facets of polished gems paired with a raw jagged surface of a jewel right from the ground. Other times it is restraint of a simple design that lets the stone speak for itself. My joy comes from bringing these treasures to life.
